THE IMAGE OF A SOUND
JULIA iSABEL SOLO EXHIBIT
10.18 - 11.04
Spanning three levels of the IO Arts Center, Julia iSABEL’s The Image of a Sound translates music into color while tracing a decade of work devoted to feminine strength and environmental consciousness.
iO Arts Center, in collaboration with Rukh Art Hub, as a part of the Ukrainian Month Project, features:
The Image of a Sound, a three-level solo exhibition by Ukrainian-American artist Julia iSABEL, whose practice bridges painting, music, and consciousness. The exhibition invites viewers to experience sound made visible—a visual symphony unfolding through gesture, rhythm, and tone.
On the Main Floor, the titular series The Image of a Sound translates classical compositions into chromatic abstraction, where musical structure finds its echo in line and movement. The Mezzanine is devoted to Women's Empowerment, a body of work exploring strength, intuition, and the feminine as a generative force. The Second Floor, Non-Plastic Ocean, reflects on the human relationship with nature and ecological balance. About the Artist Julia iSABEL (b. Ukraine) is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and activist based in the United States. Working primarily with enamel on raw canvas, she transforms movement and emotion into large-scale, kinetic abstractions that bridge visual art, sound, and performance. Her practice—rooted in themes of unity, healing, and feminine empowerment—examines systemic imbalances, patriarchal structures, and the distortion of truth within contemporary culture. A former Ms. Connecticut and social justice advocate, she uses her visibility to raise awareness for women’s rights, environmental preservation, and consumerism. iSABEL’s work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Venice Biennale, Yale University, and Art Miami, and is held in both public and private collections.
